San Diego- New Guy... Lexus GS300 to FX35?

Hey Infiniti Scene Form,
Looking at potentially getting a newer, but used, FX35/FX50... need a vehicle with more room to haul around my gear/bike... but want to retain the sleek and sexy style i'm used to from my slightly modified 2002 Lexus GS300 "Sports Design". One of the reasons i'm leaning toward the FX's is that I'd like to do some small mods (mostly exterior), and i've seen some clean FX35. Any recommendations for places, sites, or form classifieds to find a good deal on FX35/FX50? Thanks for the help.
 
Welcome! I made a similar move 2 years ago moving from my '07 Lexus IS 250 to my FX50. Needed all wheel drive and room for my bikes, and the FX fit the bill perfectly. Doesn't hurt that I almost doubled the horsepower and got a lot faster too..
 
I went from a highly modified GS400 and Landcruiser to my 45 it was a great transition (be better if my 45 was running now).
 
^ not running due to upgrades, not the reliability of the FX.

Welcome to IS I have an FX35 and a GS300, and I'm in San Diego.

You'll find more than enough cool mods on this site, lots of good content.

I like the guys at perry infiniti in escondido (Schuyler Madsen in sales) also the kearny mesa infiniti was good. I got my FX at carmax, but if you're looking for deals I think private party is the way to go. I would avoid small used car dealers, they seem to have stuff from auctions, with potential issues and they wont tell you about it.
 
Welcome to IS! The GS Sports Design interior is really nice. I have seen those before. It's comparable to "Brick" Interior for the FXs.

Hah, More like "not running due to the fact I am a bone head with poor planning, weak information and just enough cash to get into big trouble".....=)
