Royal Purple Oil

I planned on using Royal Purple for my infiniti. With this synthetic oil I was told that I would change my oil less. Would this void the warranty? Would I still need to get my oil checked every 3750 miles? If so it wouldn't be worth purchasing because I would just be wasting money changing the royal purple every oil check. Any advice would be good.

Thanks

The oil change interval according to manual's extended service recommendation is 7500 miles. All other things being equal, synthetics should hold up better than conventional oils for such a max change interval. I wouldn't exceed the max interval during the warranty period. There would be little motivation for Infiniti to honor the warranty for something they could tie to oil if you don't follow at least their worst case recommendation.

In the car's manual, there are different service levels described. 3750 is given in the two most conservative sets as I recall. I suspect that's where you got it. Nothing wrong with tossing your synthetic oil more frequently if you have the time, money, desire, inclination, etc. But, synthetics surely stand up during use for 7500 miles with a quality filter and while under driving conditions that are within the parameters described in the least intensive service level in the car's manual.

I've always used full synthetic in all my cars and always changed it after 3500 miles. I dont know why but I get paranoid after 4 months of not changing it. Make sure you use the recommended filter.
