Rotors - Drilled rotor brands?

There was another thread of product misrepresentation from R1 to one of the members here. That does not sit well with me. I am in the Service Industry and one of my fundamental core values is to be up front with a customer. Sure, products are getting rebranded all the time to reach out to a deeper clientele - that is perfectly fine but misrepresenting it to the customer, hell no! I mean expensive brand may sell their product at lower value - being rebranded to protect their brand image. Again that is fine, just do it the right way.

i bought my brake package from R1 cause when i factor in shipping, it came out cheaper for me in canada.

Sorry I didn't know the ss were not sold as full kits. There's nothing on the website saying front or rear. But thinking about it, that $60 was awful cheap for a complete set of SS lines.
There is nothing wrong with buying the ctek/elines. They are still a quality rotor. Just the premiums are said to be a bit thicker and last longer.

Thats the same reason why law prohibits false advertising and misrepresentation in the media.
Product wise, per-say the ELINE or another Aftermarket rotor that is more expensive than Standard OEM, is it not still a decent buy? I mean i could purchase a set of rotors and pads including shipping for $400.00 give or take a few beans, and they'd still be better than the standard OEM. So for an extra 2-300 for a premium brand, am i really going to see an extra 2-3 years out of the product?

It's all good, no prob. I still save a few bucks. I could have gone into more searching had you not come up with that rotor and pads lead. I think overall it is still a very good buy.

There is what we call as the "the true value" of a product which is determinted from better quality and other tangible metrics and there is also what we call as the "perceived value" which is in most cases media driven and may not represent the true value of a product. I always like to use the Louis Vuitton ladies bag (no offense to loyal brand users) as an example because for the love of God, IMHO, I don't see anything special on that dark toned bag with the "LV" stamped all over it. But hey, when the product came out to the market the first time, they are already priced high, targeting high income group ladies screaming "we are class and expensive therefore good quality". Truth be told there are moderately priced products that are of better quality.
Going back to the brakes. It also depends on your driving habits and again the preception is also build around the inputs of those who had the experience in this forum. For me, I'll cross that bridge when I'm there and make that determination. lol
