Refreshing Exterior Black Trim

Hey, guys - cross-posted this thread/photos via the FX site; but those here can find benefit as well;

Two days within purchasing my CPO '15 QX70, I set out to refresh the faded black-trim parts on the exterior. I washed, dried my vehicle, then used Mother's Back to Black liquid restorer (before/after photos attached).

Yesterday marks one-month later and the exterior black-trim parts of my QX70 still look great; this follows daily use in hot, dry, and raining days on the road; three complete washes, one waxing (avoided waxing black-trim parts), etc.

I'm sold on this product as I've not had to apply more coats to keep the refreshed appearance; I washed exterior using dawn liquid, then dried with chamois each time.

I started using the same thing years ago on my 05Fx35. Wax is so easy to get in the trim and it sucks trying to get it off. Back to Black works like magic .Just need to easily reapply after a couple of washes. I just used it on my new to me FX50 this weekend. Tell you the car looks new!

Please do! Would be great to find the product lasts the longest. I, too, will continue to post a picture of the trim to see how long I can go before having to refresh.

It's a nice step when doing a yearly detail of the ride to keep the trims looking clean and black!!

Mothers seems to work well if you work it into the plastic thoroughly. Else you get streaks after the first rain.

I use a synthetic wax, like Meguiars Ultimate Liquid... no worries if you get it on the black trim. In fact I often use it on the trim as a protective coating.

Ymmv
