Hello Everybody!
Has anybody tried to change OEM seats to something more serious?
Mansory did something like that to Cayenne. They installed 4 recaro individual sport seats. (Topline model)

I think it looks veeery sexy!
Any thought about that? How recaro (or other) seats can be installed into FX?

P.S. Please don't say that "FX is a luxury SUV, don't do that" or something like that. I want to make my own very individual project! And I need your help!
Thank you in advance!
P.P.S. Somebody please post pics of cayenne chopster.
I may not do that!

Hi Suren long time since you posted last, I dont know if its just me but i can not see the pictures.

Provided you are ok with losing the airbags and power assist functionality of the OEM FX seats, it seems like it would be pretty easy to swap in some Recaros... Tap some holes and bolt them down. :dontknow:

Probably not quite that easy - I've been reading a lot about these aftermarket racing seats because of my Miata. Turns out almost all of them will require some kind of custom brackets to fit. The racing seats are often lower sitting than OEM, so you would need to fabricate a bracket to adapt from the old sliding mechanism to the new seat so that the seating position is right for the driver.

This is the only way to go if you plan on using the forward/backward, upward/downward seat controls. You would also need to customize the switches since the controls are part of the OEM seat. Might be easier to remove the slider and motor assemblies and just place the seat where the driver wants it with a custom bracket.

Not a really tough job, but requires some fabrication skill or at least access to a shop.

Not really sure that kind of seat "fits" in the FX from a style standpoint, but with the right complimentary interior mods, it might look sweet.

fwiw, seat swap reminds me of a project raymond did, putting audi RS seats into the fx. here it is
