So I got my new tires today and in doing so, i took the below photos. Can anyone tell me what this is I am looking at in the area enclosed in red? And do I need to worry about the appearance of the P. Rear? Thanks in advance.

that's the rear shock, the wear mark is the dust boot rubbing on it as it ocillates when you drive... it's fine really, when you get to enough miles to replace shocks & struts that will get replaced, but the apearance of it now is fine & won't cause any problems, if your well over 60k miles might want to start thinking about shocks/struts anyway...

Thanks Turbocad6, it had me worried. However, I guess I need to start looking into it because I am well over the 60k mark. Now time to read up on all those threads

45beast, wasn't clear on your response. It is my daily rider and I am about to take her on our first real trip.. CC to Nashville.
