Has anyone had the plugs the licence plate screws screw into come out of the tailgate if so what did you do to fix this ?
I tried some random plugs with no luck
Any ideas ?

use a bigger screw?
Its not the screw thats the problem, the steel inserts that the screw screws into have fallen out of the tailgate
I think those inserts are bonded in & the composite smc is cast around it. once they pull out it's a bit of a mess. never seen this on the fx but have on other cars with composite tails. easiest solution usually is to drill through completely & then bond a nut from inside, then use longer screws.. this may be the best way to not make a cosmetic mess, trying to rebond from the outside could get messy & not be as secure either.
It had happen to me. The license plate screw got really rusty and it snap when I try to loosen it. I went to my local hardware store and got a couple of t-nuts made out of rubber (not sure the proper name for them). I drill out the broken nut, insert the rubber t-nut into the drill out hole with the flange outward. While at the hardware store, you may want to find a matching screw that works with the t-nuts you pick out. I use a stainless steel screw this time around. Let me know if you want me to snap a couple of pics.
Hey sorry for slow in posting pics. I tried this evening and I can't post any pic since I'm a newbie with just 2 posts. One needs to have at least 10 posts in order to include pics on rely.
Anyhow, if you Google for "Rubber Well Nut" images, you see what I'm talking about. One of the images from a calsci.com show a good pic how its used. Hope it helps.
