Rear pad change question..

Why take the risk? Brake fluid deteriorates over time with the many heat cycles, also brake fluid absorbs moisture.

No argument from me - just presenting info.

Bleeding might reduce risk. Generally the Infiniti manual is written conservatively. If they don't recommend it, then it really isn't necessary. Kind of like using an oil catch at NA. Good to have, but not required. Also, brake fluid is flushed periodically with normal maintenance which should catch any contamination long term.

They do recommend bleeding when bolting the caliper back to the torque member, even if you never removed the brake lines from the caliper. Why it makes sense to do it for this reason but not the pads - I'm not sure.

Have you ever looked at the bottom of a brake fluid reservoir? you will see what I mean.... Imagine pumping that through your system and as you compress the calipers you are forcing this debris backwards through the abs system......If moisture can get in so can dirt.

All I am saying is that an extra step does not hurt anything and why take the risk.
