Rear hatch/door not closing

Hey all, i have a 2004 with the power closing rear hatch. I got the car back from the dealer this weekend for the dash replacement and the door open warning stays on when i hit a bump or pull away from a stop fast.
I tried adjusting the door stops and strikers. no luck:mad:
The problem looks like the power latch is just not holding the hatch closed tightly. The hatch is closed securely but the warning light still comes on:confused:
Is there a way to adjust this? where is the door sensor? how do i adjust, can i adjust? do i have to buy a new rear hatch motor?
BTW if you have not visited the dealer for your bubbling dash...do so ASAP, it is really worth it, my interior looks and smells brand new:tup:

So is the problem with the hatch not being "sucked" in by the power feature or it does but the open door light stays on (or flashes on bumps or stops?)

Mine also stop working (suck in) at random. What I've been doing is pull out and re-insert the 15A "back door" fuse on the fuse panel in the left side of the driver foot well to "reset" it. Each time I did that, it start to work again until it brain dead again. Not exactly sure what the real problem is. I will investigate more when it act up more frequent.

Anyone have a fix for this yet? Mine has started doing it recently. Can't set the alarm and battery keeps going dead ... I can only assume it's constantly trying to close maybe? Seems worse when it's cold out.

Yea im having the same problem here. Warning light doesnt go off. Wheres that 15amp fuse? I plan on changing the actuator too but its alittle costly. Thanks

In the fuse panel next to the dead pedal in driver footwell. Look at the backside of the fuse panel door to locate the hatch fuse. I believe it is labeled "rear door".

Ok thanks alot. Im goin to try this until i scratch up enough money to buy a new actuator

Is there any special way of doing this. I pulled the fuse waited a minute put it back in and still the same issue

No, I just pull it and plug it right back in. Maybe my problem was different. It works 90% of the time for me. The other times, I have lock/unlock a couple times in order for the lock to work to work again.

Glad this topic is going right now -- got rear ended. Got a temporary repair until a new hatch came in -- electronics worked great in the hatch, etc...but then new hatch goes on and the electronics are only working 1/2 the time, and the hatch warning is on with the hatch closed -- switch isn't opening the hatch (have to open manually from inside). Checked the switch for closed circuit when depressed and it's fine. And, the other locks only work so-so (open half way sometimes, other times hardly at all, other times all the way). It's just weird stuff. The rear was working just like it's supposed to before the new hatch. I know there's an alignment issue right now with the hatch...so maybe just need to get that resolved first, check the fuse, and go from there. Sick of the repair guy -- keeps screwing up. Took someone's work they knew what they were doing.
