Rear center armrest locked

I cannot get my rear center armrest to release and lower. I've had this car over a year and have not been able to use it. From what I read There is a small pull tab on the passenger side of the arm rest. on my car there is no pull tab it looks like it has been removed. how do i get this to release?

Yes, i stuck a screwdriver thru the hole with no luck. tried feeling for a lever or something in there, im stumped man.

there's a tab to release it. Should be a small leather strap to pull it. Somebody ripped mine off as well, haven't gotten around to fixing it. its on pass side.
