Rattling at 2000 RPM

Just started hearing a rattling at 2000 rpm's coming from the engine area. I've had nothing but problems with this 05. Please tell me some good news! I had a heat shield rattle a little while back but this doesn't really sound like that. Plus you could tell it was coming from underneath. I read one post about replacing the engine block. Just replaced the tranny, someone give me better news than that. 05 with 95000.

One thing I have learned recently, sounds may be coming from somewhere else than you think. I had my exhaust touching something in the rear, but it sounded like it was underneath me because it transferred along the pipes.

Not saying it is happening in your case, but something to think about. I was shaking everything up near the engine, then went back and kicked the exhaust tip and heard the noise.

Sounds like a rattle but it has a little base to it. Only starts when I'm decelerating and reach 2000 RPM's. If I hold it there it will continue until I either accelerate more or take my foot off the pedal. Never at idle or while coasting.

Could it be a transmission mount? You said the transmission was just replaced. On decel, a lot of stuff shifts. You go from the engine powering the wheels to the engine braking a little bit. Sometimes if you have a loose mount or bad bearing somewhere, the change in load can cause noise.

Or it could indeed be something worse like rod knock or another internal engine component letting go. But if that were the case, there would probably be some other symptoms. I'd start by inspecting all the suspension stuff, engine/tranny mounts, exhaust hangers and see if anything is touching or close.
