As winter is getting colder in Chicago i was always wandering how i can get some decent radiator cover for winter
After spending some time on this i saw some customer made covers like this
My homemade winter grille cover! - TDIClub Forums
Well I am not in a mood to spend $50-$100 on this BS so today i spent 3 cardboards from USPS and 10 min work ( including photos )
The actual work is a matter of 4 clips and 3 bolts
Enjoy ! :)

Now sure why you are doing this, what’s the point?

It’s been much colder for much longer in here in Canada and I’ve never thought the car needed anything of sorts.

The thermostat is responsible for keeping your engine at normal operating temperature, and the hot engine coolant is what warms the air from your heater. If your car requires cardboard to block the airflow through the radiator in an effort to force it to overheat, then you have a thermostat issue.

Cardboard should never be necessary to make an engine run warm; if the thermostat is doing it's job no coolant will be flowing through the radiator until the engine reaches whatever degrees is required. If yours is not then a better approach would be to have the cause of the problem diagnosed and repaired.

I park the FX outside all day at work, and she blow hot air in a few minutes every time.

So much drama for so simple thing ....Well my will just blow hot air a little faster
Lol
