radiator fans not turning on

I suspected this before but today I saw the temp Guage raise slightly more than it has (being 70f for once) and the fans didn't turn on. I did an actuation test and the fans don't turn on when raising the speed... do the fans just die? I did have the fan module thing replaced (the old one was super noisy) recently but they didn't turn on before that either. Not sure what I should be looking for if testing the fan relays? Are there 3 or just 1? Not sure what the actuation test controls either. If it's the fan directly or if it communicates through the relay?

SO i checked the fuse box labels and none of them directly mentioned being a relay fo the radiator fans... not sure if that means there isn't one or what but i saw the 50 amp fuse which was fine. In any case i ordered a cheap set of fans off ebay for now

An update with this, Randomly i was sitting in the car with it idling and it overheated. First time its ever done that. I wasnt 100% sure where the leak was coming from but you could smell the coolant from the engine bay and it looked like there was some leakage on the lower drivers side line where the tranny? line plugs in too. So i replaced the radiator today and i'm still waiting on the fans.

But i have two questions, First is, i was wondering how often you radiator fans turn on when the engine is running. Mine dont seem to have been working since i picked up this car 2 months ago and the temp guage had been holding steady at the line below half. Now it teeters a bit to half then back down which i'm hoping that just means theres still air in the system (i only let the bubbles out for about 5 minutes from the cap and not the plastic vent cap things behind the intake)

Second one is how long does it usually take to remove the air bubbles and is it required to also go through those vent things in the back? (i should of replaced them when i had the valve covers done)

I'm reeeeeally hoping the head gasket is fine. It does seem to continuously bubble but i didn't have alot of time left to let it run longer. I'll do an oil change soon too to make sure there isn't coolant in the oil.

ok i checked the fluid level this morning and it was already empty after two 20 minute drives. I'm almost positive its that plastic bleeder valve behind and under the intake. It started steaming over there on the driver side. All the lines to the intake are dry but there was def wetness underneath.

Yes, the fans just die. Had the same issue on my 5.0 about 20k miles ago. I’ve posted details in the “what have you done to your FF” thread, but had the same overheating issue and finally after testing by just turning on the A/C and noticing no fan activation. I basically replaced the entire cooling system including heater hoses (which also blew after a failed radiator replacement, but while the fans still were broken), pump, thermostat and housing, belts, hoses for $4k at the dealer. But yes, the fans will just die.
