Radar detector invisicord install

need help with 2009 FX35 inviscord

guys, newbie here...
Nice write up, but my 2009 FX35 has a grey, black and brown wire. Anyone know which is switch power etc?

Edit/ Update

I purchased the invisicord with fuse... so I tried each wire and figured it out.
black to black
yellow to brown

thanks

Isn't the point of RD's is to not get pulled over? I got pulled over with my radar on in NJ. My radar didn't pick up any signals at all. I was clocked in at 1,007 ft. I was doing 74 in a 55 but was clocked at 70. Forgot about my radar on the windshield and it was too late to hide it. The state trooper gave me a ticket for 60 in a 55. BTW, I have the Passport 8500

I have 8500X and mine picks up most of the cops - I drove just about any south-eastern US (Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas)

I noticed no reading too on a few instances even if the cop is right next to me. I figured they switched off their radars.

Guys, radar detectors detect radars. Not cops. Also if the guy clocked you doing a certain mph, then he probably used a laser which gives a split second signal. There's no way to avoid those with a radar detector alone, you'll need a shifter which disrupts the signal. Those are illegal... Well here in Texas it is. Btw: I have a 9500ix

Also.. I get laser alerts, but it's pointless because the cop will gave my speed by then. If you want to make it harder for them, I heard removing your front plate, painting/dechroming your headlights and grille help.

I meant a police cruiser driving next to me. LOL. That would be awesome to detect a cop even on plain clothes. I got pinged twice by a laser but had enough time to react, dropping my speed to the low 60s. The laser alert is the most freakeast alert on the Escort.

So true.. the first time I heard the alert I thought my car had bluetooth capability and my phone was ringing haha

Looks like the instruction pictures in the first post are no longer there...

What happened to the pics?

Does anybody have any detailed wiring pics or diagrams? I want to attempt to jimmy up power to a DVR camera that has a mini USB port. I have plenty of scrap wire to hack up and if nothing else, will try the Stu method.

. . . Basically you just stick it in the rearview mirror holes until it works.

I can take a pic through the windshield maybe that will at least show you location of where I have stuff plugged in. From what I remember, the issue for me was that most instructions used colors to say where to plug in, but the colors were different compared to what I have. I'm about to go ride, so I can try for a pic, or maybe at least say like top left, middle right, whatever.

Here is the connector for 03-05. 06-08 the constant battery 12v black & white wire is on the top row rather then the bottom.

That plug is upside down though right? I have mine plugged into the bottom middle (ground I assume) and bottom right (ignition 12V) when viewed through the windshield.

Drivers side would be on the right, looking at the back of the mirror.

For you you guys that have this installed with the invisicord...what happens to the original cord for the mirror that provides the temp etc? Will that not
work anymore?? Do you just leave it unconnected?
