Infiniti QX70 Sport
Lets talk about QX70 Sport suspension / ride Vs just notrmal QX70

Here is my new "kalashnikov" :)

So after owning 2010 FX35 for 5 years i recently purchased QX70S 38k miles from dealer
and after owning this car about a month i still experience different feeling and cant find answers on my questions ...
Car ride was to firm to me so first i did is replaced OEM21" wheels with OEM18" wheels .
Both painted black and balanced on Hunter machine with Michelin tires on 18" , tires is per spec 33-34PSI , wheel torque is 83LB so no issue here .
Now with OEM18" ride is much more balances and forgiveness for sure .
Still I cant say ride even close to what i have experienced with FX35 same 18"wheels
If u compare this ride it is similar to BMW E39 530i which i owned for another 5 years before .
Even if the trip is short, the handling is stiff. There is no any vibration on this car but suspension responds to every contour of the road,
without much cushion between the gravel and the seats.
Do i like it ? It is getting better everyday but to be honest i was expecting similar ride to FX35
I think QX70 Sport suspension is really different from just usual QX70 but i cant find answers ...
What do u say ? Is there a way to tune it to be not so bouncy ?
aka tuned suspension like Sport and Comfort ?

found some answers

Though the active rear steering and continuous damping control features ( Sport and Comfort ) that used to be part of the sport package are gone for 2015

reduced PSI to 31-32 which really helped
going to replace front and rear sway bar links soon and see if any difference

what year is your Qx70? mine is a 2014 with auto/sport suspension and I keep it on sports mode most of the time. yes its stiff for sure especially with the 21 inch wheels that I have but It handles better on corners.
I have always wondered what it would feel like with 18inch wheels though as I would assume it would be a lot softer.
The suggestion to lower the PSI on the wheels is actually pretty good. I found out today that mine are close to 35 PSI all around, might try and lower that to 32 and see how that feels.

Yes your 2014 has 2 settings sport and comfort
Unfortunately it was removed from 2015 and my car is 2015
If u compare 18 with 21 inch the difference is really huge
I was using 21 inch for 1 - 2 week and i can say its a pain in the ass to use it as a daily driver
I was lucky to take my 18 wheels from my totaled car and they are much softer
This week i installed NASA MOOG sway bar links all around , getting even better now as
small shimmy is gone
Next step i will play with PSI and see what is the best numbers for me
I also think to get some softer springs from usual fx or qx
Springs are disconnected from struts so should not be a big deal to swap just springs
I beleave sport springs are mostly responsible for the harsh ride after wheels

Checked alignment and all is up to spec
I also drove some new q50 infiniti and they all have this boncy ride
In the end of the day i think infiniti did it on purpose to be a "sport car" manufacture close to bmw
With 18" wheels , new links and lower PSI i found a good compromise between to be sporty and not so bouncy
I start to like what i build - good looking car which i can drive daily
Cheers , share u story

are you refering to the all new 2018QX50? I would be really surprsised if that has a harsh ride as well!

ya Q50 the dealer rental car, even car is smaller it feels the same way as my - suspension ( mostly rear ) responds to every contour of the road

Pretty sure the suspension on the Sport package on QX70 (3.7) is unchanged. But yes it’s not plush, and 21s don’t help, but it kind of defines the car ...
I swapped to 275/45 Pirelli Scorpion Verdes which helped (great tires and a little softer/quieter than the Duellers).

I dont agree that sport has same suspension as non sport i can see springs has blue marks where my non sport has diff colors

Off topic a little but I scored a “Sports Seat” for my 2013 Limited for the driver side, extra articulations and extended thigh support.

It’s pretty stiff for a 200 mile drive but great for the other 99% of the time. Other than the purple-blue threads most civilians wouldn’t notice, but I like the way it holds me in place.

$7800 from Infiniti but $700 (including shipping) from a 2015 with less than 40,000 miles from eBay. I think I got lucky but the limited seats are definitely softer.

Although maybe not as cool.

All the electrical connections were “Plug ‘n play.” AC and articulations 100%.

I'd love to learn definitively. IIRC Infiniti made no mention of suspension changes in their official marketing/brochure materials when discussing the Sport Package. I have not driven a non-S model to know myself. I think the seats and 21s could lead to the harder ride.

Easy enough, go to the parts counter and ask to see what the parts numbers are for the different springs, and or shocks.

I’ve driven both and Wyatth is right.

Sport seat are definitely better than from non sport .. Like this lumbar support underneath Congrat !

If we talk about Sport seats then yes i can compare as i drove both versions
Sport seats have excellent settings but much less material inside so the ride is much harder .
Like the sport setting , hate the quality of these seats
