QX60 JX35 washer pump replacement

Hello QX60 JX35 fellas

This thread is for QX60/JX35 washer pump replacement
congratulation u finally found one !

My wife told me during winter time that no water coming to my windshield for both real and front
I spent some time re-searching forum ( yaa nothing FTW noone has washer pump failure ?? ) so it took me some time to fix it myself
Here is the story :
1.There are 2 fuses u will need to check , one is inside engine and one is in salon
Google and u will find them or just look for fused under washer motor name
In my case all 2 fused were OK so i started to dig dipper into washer pump.
2. Washer pump location is on the right site near the right wheel.
U will need to raise u car and remove right wheel.
Then u will need to remove the fender cover . I didnt remove entire cover as u will see on attached pictures .
I only released and pushed up the lower part of cover to have enough space to reach my washer pump .
Remove washer pump and test it with 12v small battery ,- my was dead , cool i found the problem :)
3. Ok after digging down your problem to the washer pump u will think what the deal , just get on ebay one for $20 and u are done ... WRONG ..
These M.F. infiniti engineers ( i have no other words sorry ) probably think that who ever buy infiniti didnt pay them enough ,- u can NOT find the pump number anywhere
( see picture ) , the only replacement they have is ENTIRE washer module with tank, cables, washer pump , yadda , yadda , like $170-$200,- what the crap its just washer pump no ???
long story short i ended up with aftemarket washer pump .
U will need a double front / end terminal connections for single washer pump .
They call it : 2-Way Washer Pump Controls Both The Front & Back Washers;
This is because one pump work for both front and real , u just change polarities +/- to -/+ on a pump and it starts pumping in other direction
U will need same size for 2 front end terminal connections and one big which need to be plugged into washer tank .
U will need same body size to plug into the same space build into washer tank . The wire harness is the only peace which u can negotiate ( rebuild ) , all the rest should match .
After some research i ended up with Trico washer pump Part #11-529 , - worked great for all dimensions except of wire harness which i rebuilt but its not cheap ,- like $45.

I am interested. Mine just went out. I have a 2015 QX60. The dealer says I have to buy the pump and the reservoir together as the pump is attached to it. Your photo looks like it's not attached to the reservoir at all. I have an AWD premium and I was wondering your model as to the similarities. Thanks.

Hi here
I think my thread has all details . Trico washer pump Part #11-529 and u all set ( or similar )
Or u pay for the full modute which is $200 . Job is not that copmlicated , I say 3-4 from 10
It will work for your QX60 as well , I have no more problem after i replaced my

So the pump is not attached to the reservoir at all? Also, I noticed that you had to jury rig the wiring harness to fit the Trico pump. How hard was that and what was the total cost? if I can order a genuine Infiniti reservoir and pump for $120, is the custom job worth it? Thanks.

Hi, I'm in the same situation and was wondering what you ended up doing? I agree with your post and the original persons pictures/details weren't too helpful. Thank you! Tom

Sorry for the late response, but after I never heard back from the OP, I had to do something, so I quit following the thread closely. My local dealer wanted $250 for the part, which I thought was ridiculous. I scoured he internet, and there was an Infiniti dealer in Colorado (I am in SC) who sold the part for $125 shipped which was both the pump and reservoir. I then paid my mechanic $150 to replace it. He had to remove the bumper to get to it. Still cost me almost $300, but it's working fine now. After seeing the part, it looked so cheap I would not be surprised if I have to replace again. Mine failed at less than 50k miles. I have owned over a dozen vehicles in my life and I have never had to replace the washer pump until now.

Most people a dump . Period .
They will always complain pictures are not good , details are not good.
U see picture with just washer pump but keep asking dump question is it attached to reservoir . Rebuild connections is an easy job ... do u know what is solder gun ?
U deserve to pay $300 for $30 job .
So long story short during this winter it happens again !
Some flow in this design , pump failed again . Frozen water ? Probably ...
Good that i had this thread so i just checked for the part number.
Found this washer pump on Amazon for $25 !
Going to do 2h job again this spring so will reuse this thread to refresh my memory.
Good help for someone who can work with hands .
Useless thread for the rest . Keep paying .
Amen

Hi,

Had same problem with a failed pump. I was following this thread and did some additional searching. Found a Forum for the Nissan Pathfinder which had a similar problem. They found product that was almost identical.
This guy found one on aliexpress.com. Looked identical to the Infiniti pump. Go look at Pathfinder Forum "I can't find this Windshield wiper fluid pump anywhere! PLS HELP! | Nissan Pathfinder Forum (pathfindertalk.com)"

Go to www.aliexpress.com and search for 28920-3ja0a
Very easy to remove. I have ordered mine. No modification to the mounting bracket, no soldering, or changes to wire harness. Crossing my fingers

I am debugging a non working washer pump in my 2016 QX60. The pump is integral to the washer reservoir and located in the passenger front wheel well behind the plastic liner. In my case, the pump runs when I jumper 12V to it. Measuring the voltage at the connector coming into the pump... nothing when I select washer at the steering column (engine on). Only get wiper sweep, no washer fluid. I have checked the fuse under the hood, labeled 'washer' (fuse 50 in fuse box 1). Fuse is good. I have also checked fuse 1 in cabin. This one is also good, and supports a bunch of other systems which are all working anyway. Another comment elsewhere on the internet says that it is likely the combination switch which is the stalk switch for the wipers and washer is bad. This requires pulling the steering wheel. Has anyone else had this replaced?
