I understand that topic about hid fogs is covered a hundred times before. I did search for the past hour and i could not find a diy to replace stock fog with hid.
Please someone post a link to the thread that shows how to do this step by step without removing the bumper 08 FX. I saw a few for 09+ is it the same on both cars?

Thank You

I don't think there is a step-by-step link.
I did it on my own and it seemed pretty simple.

Took it out of the box, plugged everything up to see how the fog light would work.
Unplugged everything and set it aside.
Removed the wheel well off both sides.
Took a peiece of my velcro sticky and placed it on this long iron bar which is right behind the bumper and under the headlights.
Took another velcro sticky and placed it on under the HID ballast and secured the ballast on top of the iron bar.

Removed the stock fog light bulb.
Placed the kits male connection into the female connection.
Plugged the HID bulb's connection to the ballast.

Tested it.
Everything works, so I secured the fog light into the housing.
Put the wheel wells back and wala.

It really is pretty simple. I did mine on my 03, which I believe is the same. I did not remove the bumper. I removed the lower splash guard and just removed old bulbs and replaced with new hids and ballasts. The kit I used was 35watt from ddm tuning. Its very simple and plug and play.

Same thing here. Just removed the lower splash guards, then plugged in the hid fogs. I actually installed a relay on mine as well.

My guess is your ballast is getting weak. One of my DDM ballast on my FX35 did that at random. I had that ballast for about 20 months. The replacement been turning on fine for about 10 months now. Granted for the last 6 months, it been laying dormant since I have not been driving it much.

it did it while brand new tho. now it works fine. idk lol. i dont turn mine one anymore. the 6k dont match up with my 4.3k headlights

I have installed probably about 8 ddm tuning kits now, and never used relays before. I never had a problem without. What I will say is there 4500 is not a perfect white. It does have a blue tint. So if you want a slight blue tint go with the 4500 vs the 5 or 6k. If you want more blue obviously go higher. But the 4500 do have a little blue.

I've never had issues with hid fogs without a relay, I just prefer to have them installed. Call it a security blanket if you will lol
