Pulling engine 11 fx35
My name is Kevin I own a 2011 fx 35 3.5 lt my engine got hot blew head gasket put a new kit on the motor put in new piston rings the cranks over an over like it's trying to start but won't start so I purchased a used motor then a guy told me to pull the motor you had to pull it out the bottom side of the car I was wondering if anybody could please help me here either confirming or denying this info by chance? Or if anybody could help me out as far as something I could try with my motor that's still in the car to see if I could get it to start any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

Welcome Kevin!
My experience comes from my 1st gen, but it should at least be similar. I bought a complete drivetrain package (Complete motor-trans-driveshaft-transfer case) and this whole monster assembly came out the front of the donor car. The rebuild project dropped my motor components out the bottom of my car. Maybe they chose the bottom because we were rebuilding the trans, diff, and driveline.. more than just engine alone. Anyhow, I redid the engine not long after with an engine transplant that came out the top. The takeaway from this is... If you are trusting someone to do an engine transplant or repair, trust in the method they prefer. There could be reasons to do it from either top or bottom.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more insight.
