Projector lens size 2nd gen

Does anyone know what is the size of the OEM projector lens? Is it 2.5" like the 1st gen or 3"? Can't seem to find the correct info.
 
I can check, a buddy opened mine up to do quad retrofit so he should be able to measure. I'd like to say they're 3" but let me double confirm.

Are you 100% sure, when I contacted TRS for the clear lens they are telling me 3" but I think it's 2.5" as well so it got me confused

That would be awesome, appreciate it. Wow quad projectors?? That's going to be insane. Can't wait too see the final outcome

Yes I'm sure, I replace mine with the TSX-R. There's no way a 3" diameter will fit. I've talked to Andrew@TRS like 3 years ago and he recommended the 2.5". I'm not aware of any differences on S51 FX50/FX35 lenses.

Well worth it, you have to remove the second shield (Drill out the rivets) and play around with cereal cardboard spacers to get that sharper and bluish purple cut-off.

Awesome, did you buy the spacer kit they offer?
 
The lens and housing heats up quite a bit when the headlights are on. is there any issue with the cereal cardboard spacer being heated up?

Going to black out the housing and shrouds and thought while I was at it might as well upgrade to the TSX-R clear lens which has way better cut off then the stock lens. Better, sharper light output plus gives you that nice blue/purple flicker when driving.

No, they did not offer any spacers back then.Get what they sell so you don't have waste time making your own.

No issues, TRS sells paper too but laminated.
 
What model year projector was in question here specifically? The retrofit source is telling me I need a 3" clear lens for 2011-2013 FX35 projectors..
 
Question about this aswell. Are the tsxr lenses the ones that actually come on the acura tsx? Ive got a wrecked tsx in my shop that got totalled up front & im taking the projectors out!
 
According to TRS, their TSX-R lenses have the same spec as all of their supported vehicle. So, yes, TSX lenses have the same spec as the OEM TSX lenses.
 
04-05 OEM TSX lenses are clear 06+ are Fresnel
TRS lenses are clearer than both of the OEM lenses. If you care about sharp colorful cut off the TRS lenses are the best option
