Problem with Radio

I have a annoying issue with my radio and wondering if others have the same issue?
Usually when you have the radio tuned to a certain channel / volume it should remain on that channel after you turn of / re-start your car.

For some reason every time I get in and turn on my car, the radio is automatically preset to another channel set at a ridiculously loud volume.
When my radio it tuned to a different channel, or even when my radio is turned off when I shut down my power, when I get back it, it goes back to the same unwanted channel at high volume.

Anybody had this issue before and if so, what can be done to fix this bug?

What happens if you shut off the radio before you shut down the car? Does it do the same when you turn it back on with the car?

if i shut off my radio before shutting down the car, when i turn it back on, it still goes back on to the same channel volume.

I think what happened was I was on the "unwanted" channel once when I shut off my power. Ever since, it stays on that channel when the car starts regardless of it was off or on a different channel prior to powering down.

I do know that its been an ongoing thing before , but it was "saved" on a channel I normally listen to so it didn't bother me. But this time is stuck on a channel with poor reception that's really loud. Very weird.
 
yep negative battery...if that doesn't work, it wouldn't hurt to just see what the dealer would say.
 
That is sooo strange never heard of that. I agree with the others about disconnecting your battery and hopefully this will correct it.

I think there was a similar situation on the org a while ago. Something about the radio changing stations on its own.

Not sure if this was it or if there was another case. Either way, hope you can get it fixed. If you are just barely out of warranty, some dealers may still honor the repair as a goodwill measure. Can't hurt to try. And if the problem is weird enough, they may just want to take a crack at fixing it for the heck of it.
 
Try setting it to Music Box or CD before you shut the car off. On my car it will go back to whatever source I had it on before I turned the car off.

If its just going through your favorites it's most likely something with the button on the steering wheel. What is exactly happening? Any certain times it does it?

No, just started Friday night... what it does is tune off 1 click either direction, sometimes two. Just enough to annoy you. For example, preset is FM 104.5... once I turn the car on and start driving..it will tinker between 104.5, then 104.3, sometimes 104.7 and bounce around no more than 1-2 tuning clicks either direction.

Doubleeckz- my FX50 just started doing the same thing. Did you ever find out what was causing your radio stations to change on its own? T Rell
 
my radio just started to change station on its own.
lets say its set to 97.3... plays for random amount of time, then switches to 97.4 automatically, which is not the correct station with clear reception.
really annoying.

i drive a 2009 fx 35 btw.
