power difference

Is there a power difference from automatic to shift mode? Sometimes I feel that it drives sluggish in automatic for 280 hourse

I have a new to me '05 with just over 60 K on the speedo. I had also received a warranty notice about cooling fan engines and some are being recalled.

When they are problematic the notice said the engine will be limited on HP?

Any help or thoughts would be most welcome.

I have not received such a warranty notice. But the FX will feel a lot more torquey in manumatic mode compared to full auto since you will be driving more within the rpm powerband.

The only warranty notice I have received was the headlight issue. And since you will have more control over the car with manual mode, you will feel more power I guess.

Like doc said, the engine makes a lot more power in the higher rpms, the computer shifts very early while driving conservatively, so it can feel slugish at times, it's in a higher gear, thats normal

I also received the extended part warranty notice. Last week

Could be just '05 35s. dunno

I got a letter about the extended warranty too, here it is pretty much:

"On some 2004-2008 FX35 vehicles, the radiator fan motor may become in-operable, which may cause the engine coolant tempurature to rise. In this case the engine protection logic will limit the vehicle speed to prevent any damage to the engine. Because this issue only affects a limited number of vehicles, the vast majority of owners should never experience this issue.

However, to assure your continued satisfaction with your vehicle, Infiniti has decided to extend its New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage of your vehicle's Radiator Fan Motor from its original duration of 48 months/60,000 miles to 96 months/100,000 (whichever occurs first). This warranty extension applies only to the Radiator Fan Motor. Coverage of other vehicle components will remain unchanged, and all other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of Infiniti's New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply.

...

If you have previously paid to have your Radiator Fan Motor replaced due to a failure, you may be eligible for reimbursement of the expenses for parts and labor that you incurred. If you have any additional questions, please contact the National Consumer Affairs Department, Infiniti Division, Nissan North America, Inc., P.O. Box 685003, Franklin, TN 37068-5003. The toll free number is 1-800-662-6200."
