Potential Side Marker Turn Signal Mod

Hey all,

So I was snooping around the G forums the other day and noticed some of the guys over there had wired their side markers into their turn signals. It seems to me that it would not be too difficult to replicate, but as my FX (First Gen) is my only ride at the moment, I didn't want to start messing around in case I screwed something up. I was just wondering if anyone here had tried and if so, had a wiring schematic for the process. I tried the search, but couldn't find any posts along these lines.

Anyway, just curious. Seems like a potentially good looking and functional safety mod.

Yeah, I had seen this one for the mirrors! It is a very cool idea, looks great too. However, I was thinking more about the existing side markers (Amber at front, Red at back) on the sides of the existing front and back lamps. Do you think it would be a similar process, wiring wise?

Ohhh. What you might be able to do is just connect the wire going to the bulb for the side markers and connect it to the ones going to turn signal bulbs?

You know, I was thinking the same thing when I was digging around in there last. I had switchbacks installed in the signals for a while, so I know cross wiring can work. Do you think there would be any Fuse issues between the two? Also, would you need to cross all the turn signal bulbs over, or just a specific one? I don't want to start blowing out fuses if I can avoid it!
