Potential buyer- 08 FX35. Questions.

I'm looking to buy a 2008 FX35 and I just had a few questions concerning this make/model/year...

First, here are the specs:

Certified 2008 FX35 AWD
42,687 Miles
Diamond Graphite Metallic/Graphite
Technology Package
Touring Package
$28,995

Are there any recurring problems (minor or major) that I should be aware of?
Have there been any recalls?
How is the reliability of the FX?
How is the AWD system?
Is 42K considered high mileage for the FX?
Is this a good price considering the year/mileage? Too high/too low?

Thanks in advance for the help!

As a fairly new owner of a used 07, I would want to the following
. Are you buying from a dealer
. If so, check the maintenance manual for the dealers activity. Mine had undergone a recent 30k check and was all up to date.
. Make sure they either have record of or perform a brake inspection(with the micrometer readings) to detwrmine the life remaining.

Thatshould get you started.

The reliability of the FX is pretty good. It's significantly better than a European SUV like a Porche Cayenne, VW Toureg, etc. It's probably not on par with a Honda Civic or Accord. I've been satisfied with it. I bought mine with 88k miles on the clock and did some routine maintenance on it and I am about to hit 100k with no issues.

I agree with Copperhead. Find out where the FX was serviced and try to get their records. I did than with mine and the dealer faxed over all of the service records which was extremely helpful since it basically corroborated the owner's story of his maintenance.

Definitely check out the records and do a full inspection of the car yourself. Some dealers try to cover up nicks, chips, scratches.

I have recently purchase 2008 FX35 with 33k miles on it. I went to an infiniti dealer and I made them turn the certified pre-own(CPO) for free because 2.9% fin for 60 mons and 72mon/100k warranty. So long story short, even tho it was CPO there was corrosion on the rim that it was leaking air which I made them fix. Another thing was that the dealer didn't know that my windshield fluid neck(where you can add more windshield) was missing which I also made them fix. So yes even tho it's from the Infiniti dealer and CPO, it doesn't mean anything. I would def bring a friend to help you look thoroughly before you buy. Because once you buy, they don't want to do anything for you.
