Just dipped my grille this morning, it's not perfect but it will do for now. Will retouch it once I have time.

Looks good man.
If you want to save a little bit of time you didn't need to tape off the emblem. Just spray the whole grill and if its more then 4-6 coats you can just peel the PlastiDip off of the Infiniti Symbol.

Kinda like this video but flipped around. Just Spray everything and peel off what you don't want black.

thanks for the vid, i've actually watched that video several times, i wasn't going to tape off the emblem but it wasn't that much of a hassle so i taped it.
Looks great, glad you left the emblem chrome! :good:
thank you. yeah i like the emblem to be visible, not a fan of all blacked out grille.

Having a Beryllium FX myself, I am not digging it. You did a good job, but the look is just not for me.

In all honesty, your first pic with the stock girlle looks 100x better than flat black. This whole plastidip thing reminds me of when you buy Taiwan parts after you are in a wreck lol. To each his own but the stock grille looks very nice and elegant. I bet if it came flat black stock, many would complain and would be doing anything to cover it up. We humans are funny lol

Looks great... I miss mine so much more now..... They look so good blacked out...

Looking to do the same mod - approximately how many cans, how many coats and how much time did this take? I'm assuming removing the front grille is a few simple screws? Thanks

Also, does this hold up well when washing the car?

1 can of plastidip should be sufficient to do the grill and should only take about an hour to do letting each coat dry for 10 mins or so. I put about 4-5 coats on mine and it is holding up pretty well even when washing the car. There are a few clips on top which hold the grill in place. Once you remove those you can pull the grill out, very simple to do.
