Phone book erasing???

OK I give up.

How does one erase the phone book? I've looked over the owners manual and it states what to do. But it won't let me turn and land on that feature. I've taken the phone on and off the car and still nothing. It says it's full @ 1000 entries. I only have 703 entries where did the others come from?

What's the secret to deleting those?

OK, I figured this out. I think I mis-worded the question. This only deletes the ones that you manaully place in the cars phone book. There is a space below that that says down load phone book. It says it's full @ 1000 entries. I only have 703 entries. And where do these actually go? Another issue I'm having is when I place or receive a call the name is not showing up on the screen. It's in the phone address book it's self, but not coming up on the screen. It shows a call coming in or out but does not identify it. Any ideas?

Guys I cannot even figure out how to add phone numbers into the phone book? I have an ex...but nobody seems to have EX's on this website so I figured I would ask on this thread. Any idea??

I don't think the owner manual is up to date of this them. It says my phone is comptable with the bluetooth system. I have the GPS/NAV. I go to use the download contacts and it says it's full @ 1000. I have only 703 contacts, how can it be full? And what's full? My phone or the unit itself? The only ones that are in the unit itself are the ones I pulled in from the called list, and that's only 4 contacts. Where are the rest hiding? Anyone what to chime in here?

the only one I can erase are the ones i pulled in manually and again that's at 4 contacts. Again where are the rest hiding out?

Bump....

No one has an answer to this question!

Again here is the problem.

Importing address book into the radio. I've deleted the phone and re added it several times. Even taking the battery out of the phone does not work! When I import the the address book it says the directory is full @ 1000. I have only 703 entries where are the others. These are 703 entries such as cell phone, home phome, work phone, ect. Not 703 names with several numbers under each name. It's 703 entries total.

The only entries I can delete are the ones that I manually drag over the address book or add myself not from the address book. Those I see and can delete without a problem. Where are the 1000 hiding out? I've only got one phone paired to the radio.

The outbound calls have no phone number or name attatched it only shows the time alapsed. Inbound calls will show the number and name and time.

The bluetooth worked great both directions I could have sworn too it making the display. Like I said above it's not displaying the outbound calls.

Does this warrant a trip to the dealership?

I'll have to check this evening on that theory. I drove the beater to work today. Love driving it as I don't have to worry about getting whacked in the parking lots and all the other perils of suburba!

OK, I think I may have broken the code here.

The downloaded address book and the vehicle phone book are two different address books!

So I had 15 YO my daughter pair up her iPhone 4S via Blue Tooth phone to my radio. I took mine off so it would not muddy the already dirty water!

After pairing hers up we downloaded her address book. The book is there. Seems to access this info is only through the steering wheel and not the radio itself. Sure enough the address book is there.

So we deleted her phone and paired up my again. The address book is there too as well.

Seems the only way to see any outgoing calls is to dial them using the steering wheel button or placing them manually into the vehicle phone book, then they will display on the radio otherwise all you're getting is just the elapsed time. My daughter says the “Vehicle Phone book and the Downloaded Phone book are two different phonebooks. Call me a stupid dad. My 15 YO knows more than I do! Don’t tell anyone guys!

My Wife's Honda Blue Tooth shows both incoming and outgoing calls much better and much friendlier. She actually has a button on her radio that brings up all the phone menus. I knew I should have bought that Acura!

The owner’s manual is worthless as far as I’m concerned.

Score one for the kids!
