In terms of adding HP, you'd have to give up an arm, a leg and a liver to gain any serious ponies. So unless you're prepared to go forced induction way and spend upwards of $10k I'd stay away from it. You can however upgrade the suspension and substitute air rides, or other aftermarket parts like coilovers:
Coilover option with adjustable camber: V.Products - BC Racing Coilovers special for IS members(coils/lowering kit for any make and model)
Some cool tech like remote starter: QX70 09+ - Remote start using factory key fob...NEW kit...
You can of course upgrade the Akebonos to massive Brembo or AP Racing: 2010 Infiniti FX50 Brake Kits | Performance Brakes and Complete Brake Kits
As you may know, the sky is the limits with upgrades on all cars, just depends how deep your pocket is. A few members have done the APRacing upgrades and the coilovers, and air rides. Check out the garage section and search the forum, you'll get a pretty good idea..
There are also a few vendors here you can get part quotes from and are pretty helpful. Good luck!
