People who use Morimoto bulbs

Again thank you Shadow. I posted on hidplanet and within minutes i got a response from Andrew (Andrew was also the one who responded to my email telling me no). It's sad though cause he deleted almost my whole posts. I guess they don't want others to see how bad they treated a customer. I will let you guys know the outcome. I did ask for a pair instead of just the one cause of the trouble they put me through. I will be happy to just get the one though as i appreciate anything they're willing toe it do. Honestly though, i will never buy from them again or even refer them to anyone. I don't want others to go through this. I mean it's not a huge deal but when you offer a warranty for a period of time i expect them to honour it. If the warranty was just for a year i wouldn't be complaining. Funny thing is i was going to buy the TSX-R lenses but now not a chance. I will be buying my next set of HID's locally for now on, it's just not worth the trouble. Thank you everyone for your support i really appreciate it

I was just looking at their website and on the D2S, it now clearly states not recommended for Nissan/Infiniti or cars with Matsushita ballasts (which includes Nissan/Infiniti). Was this warning there when you bought? I was just Googling and apparently some people do have issues with aftermarket bulbs on Matsushita ballasts? But ironically the solution people gave was to run OEM or Morimoto since they were such high quality... I've been running my $20 eBay bulbs for a year now without issues. I saw your half deleted thread on hidplanet. They do have a pretty heavy handed moderation system and don't really tolerate too many negative threads about TRS. But it's understandable since TRS owns those forums.

Honestly, i don't really know anyone with a FX that runs OEM bulbs. They didn't post that when i bought my bulbs or at least i didn't see that.Either way when someone buys bulbs they should ask what vehicle it's for and tell them there won't be a warranty. If they told me that and i still bought them it would be at my own risk and i wouldn't complain. Still waiting to see what they are going to do

I looked on the website and they don't mention Infiniti or any other vehicle, all they mention is matsushita ballasts. So they mention these bulbs as replacements for the followng vehicles:

Replacements:Acura, Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes, Nissan, Porsche etc. Not suggested for:Matsushita Gen 4/5 ballasts

From my past light projects, I had dealt with Nate often (unsure if he's still employed there). Their customer service 1.5yrs ago was top notch for small group buys, 8 pairs of FX-R and 4 pairs of Morimoto 35w 5000k bulbs. No complaints from any of the members. Definitely odd for them to bring up the brand of the oem ballast. If all fails, email the President and he should have a good response.

Out of curiosity what generation is our ballasts?

I am assuming we are gen 4 or gen 5?

Really rather not pull out my entire headlight just to glance at the label on my ballast.

It seems that the generation is model year dependent. Z/G/FX range from model 3-5. The weird thing is that they're interchangeable so I'm not sure what it would be about the 4/5 that might blow bulbs. I've only dealt with Matt at TRS in person, he was cool and helpful. When I was there, one guy was getting irate with a customer on the phone. Wonder if that was Andrew, haha.

Do any of you guys know the link to a thread or video on how to install the HID fog light conversion kit? I'm running into a problem fitting in the HID bulbs into the housing and then I was wondering how everyone made it water tight after.

Well Andrew stepped up and took care of me. He said he is going to send me a pair of the Morimoto 35 6000K. I guess in the future confirm with them if they will honour their warranty if we buy the Morimoto 35 6000K since they say they are finacky with our ballasts. Matt is also a very nice guy that was willing to help out as well. So in the end they took care of the customer like a good company does

^good. A product can only be as good as the people that works behind it.
