I have been hearing a rattle sound from what sounds like the passenger side of the dash. cant pinpoint it though. I took the glovebox out to replace the cabin air filter & poked around up there but everything seemed tight & couldnt reproduce the noise.

Anyone else have this rattle & if so did you find/fix it?

TIA

Maybe it might be that if they replaced your dashboard they did not tightened it good. However in other threads they talk about all the noises FX make

Well Im actually bringing the truck in tomorrow to have the upper dash pad replaced under warranty...Ill tell them to look in there while its off....:wink (2):

Well had the ENTIRE dash replaced at the dealer yesterday! I thought the top section where the dimpling defect was is separate but it turns out its all ONE piece!

Telling the tech there was a rattle didnt help because after he had half my interior apart, there still is a rattle (which was confirmed by the tech) gotta bring it back to have them tear into it again.

Oh well.....

This may be stupid but I was having a rattle in the same general area and for the life of me could not find it. Just before I was about to take it in I by chance looked at the wiper blade area that there was a leaf stuck on the outside just under the hood and it would rattle on the window. Just something easy to check out.

It almost sounds like an old motion sensor that you would get in an after market alarm system......

The dealer acknowledges there is a problem and they are waiting for me to reschedule another appointment to have them look at it

This may sound funny, but I used to hear a clunk from what I thought was the pass side dash area each time I accelerated or made a sharp turn. I took apart my glovebox and dash speaker and could find nothing loose. Finally traced it to the EZ-pass module (the toll paying electronic device) that I leave up in the sunglasses holder near the center rearview mirror. It was moving around when the car swayed. Do you leave anything in the sunglass holder?

**update**

Found the source of the rattle myself. Took the glovebox out again to install the OEM iPod adapter kit. Poking around I found the source of the rattle noise I was hearing! On the far right side of the dash there are 2 silver metal modules bolted to the body using 10mm bolts. One of them is facing you if you are sitting in the seat & is attached to a bracket that has 2 "legs" sticking out of it....one screw is attached to the left leg on the firewall and another is attached to the right leg which is attached to the pass side body where the kick panel clips to.....

Turns out that screw was missing! There was evidence that it was there at one point but it was no where to be found. Probably loosened up & dropped under the carpet somewhere. Pulled out a spare bolt I had in the garage & viola...no more rattle!!!
