Paint Job question...

I triend to fix a little scratch around the rear wheel area on the driver's side with the scratch removing wax. However, I think I was a little aggressive. I now see a big smudge and almost see the primer underneath it. CRAP! I think I may need a "focal" paint job. How would you address this problem? Do you know any place near Orange County or Southern California that you can recommend? How much would this cost? The size is about 3"x4". I have Diamond Graphite.

I'm not really experienced, but the paint seems really thinned out. I'm seeing small patches of white primer underneath the thinned paint. Is it possible to rub off the paint with the scratch removing wax? As far as I know, it doesn't seem like the hazed over wax. I buffed it with a clean automobile towel, thinking that it was a haze from the wax...but no help.

What "scratch removing wax" product did you use? I'm pretty sure there aren't any "scratch removers" that will ruin the clearcoat.....has that body panel been repainted in the past? Which product did you use? can you get a picture?

I used Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0. I never had an after-market paint job. Let me add a picture...not too good, but hopefully you can see what I'm talking about.

i've used scratchX 2.0 b4. did u make sure to rub perpendicular to the scratch? what you're trying to do is smooth out the scratch edges so it appears to be gone. a better pic would help too. btw its not a polishing compound, i think u had people confused with 'scratch removing wax'.
