Hello,

I'm getting P1273 and P1774 in my infiniti FX35.

Gear is not shifting. it stays on 4 when moved to manual.

If I stop and start the engine AT Check is blinking for while then turned off.

After that every thing is back to normal (shifting normally up and down)

Any clues?

Thanks in advance
Elie

Thats a low coast brake solenoid valve function problem code.
Possibly a loose or corrosion in harness to the solenoid or valves at tranny. Or a bad low coast brake solenoid vave or an atf pressure switch 2 problem. Id check harnesses & fluid 1st to be sure its nothing bigger than that.
& welcome to the scene!

Thanks for your reply.
The fluid was changed last week. Still the code is appearing.
Should i change the solenoid valve body?

You could do that if your capable of doing it yourself. But if you are you should probably check the the solenoids first & the harnesses for a bad connection. Other than that a tranny shop might charge alot to rebuild the unit. You could just get a used trany in that case.

For now, whenever it fails (not shifting) I'm stopping and starting the engine (A/t is blinking for while then turn off) and everything is back to normal. (shifting smoothly up and down).
Will it affect the tranny? what if it fails completely?

It's your valve body. The TCM is internal on the valve body in that model so it's likely not a connection. I had a similar situation where a solenoid failed and I had the same symptoms. Locking in 4th gear is limp mode for the transmission as it's trying to prevent more damage. I was able to restart the car and it would shift, but every time I came to a stop, it would lock into 4th. I'd avoid driving too much as it's going into limp mode for a reason. I don't think it's doing damage, but starting in 4th gear is hard on the transmission since there is a lot of slip and heat.

I had a spare valve body so I just replaced it. But I believe Sonnax sells solenoids individually now so you may be able to replace just the ones failing. Rebuilt valve body is ~$700 USD and you may be able to get a used one for less but you won't know the history. I don't think it's the entire transmission if that's the only code you get.
