Oznium LED Dome Light

As promised, here's my install for the Oznium Ultra Thin LED Dome lights. These suckers are amazingly bright. I would say at least 5 times brighter than the stock festoon bulbs (maybe even too bright). I ended up just going with the "white" LED's instead of the "warm white" or "cool white." Hopefully this will be a little more thoroughly written than my last DIY :k:

Install time: 5 minutes

Tools: Your fingers

First off, examine the contents of your package to make sure you have received everything including the correct size festoon bulb. Oznium provides a multitude of adapters so these LED's will work in almost any situation.




Now that you've found the correct festoon, we'll begin removing the dome light lenses. Take a finger (or two) place on the inside lense and use your finger nails to pop the cover loose. It may help if you try turning on the light (pushing on the outside of the lense) while using your finger nails to get underneath and pop the cover.



Now that it's loose, walk it from side to side to remove. Do the exact same steps for the passenger side cover. Now with the covers removed, your stock festoon bulbs are exposed. Remove both bulbs and replace with your Oznium festoon adapter. Make sure the "red" (positive) wire is facing the hood of the vehicle.



Now connect your LED light and test to make sure everything works. Oh the brightness :glasses:


Next remove the backing to the sticky side of the LED, and place the light into position. Take note where I have placed mine as I felt this was the best location to balance out the look of the lights.




Once installed, double check everything one last time to make sure it all works and then reinstall the dome light covers. Insert the outside of the lens first and then snap the inside into place. Check to make sure both LED's work with the covers installed, too.

just wondering.. do these lights work the same as the stock ones, like do they start off dimmer then get brighter after 1-2 seconds

Wait till you see the night pictures :.smile:

They do dim, but I don't think as long as the festoons do. They kick on 100% bright when illuminated, but when you lock the car, they fade for maybe a sec vs. the 2-3 seconds for the stock bulbs.

That is sooo bright. Too much for me too. Now if I could only get mine to stop flickering

They do have single superflux LED's, which I'm sure would be a heck of a lot less bright. I'm contemplating putting these in the back passenger lights and trunk light and doing something different up front. The more I sit in the car, it always feels like daytime. It does make it easier to find your car out in the shopping center parking lot. Just look for the rapture that's happening in the parking lot, and that's my car

whats the warranty on these leds?

Umm, not exactly sure. I've never had an issue with my lights from there. Other places always seemed to burn out/flicker after a month. Here's a link to there warranty page http://www.oznium.com/returns

I have not done any more locations. At $25 each, I decided to hold off until later. Now with the link that dulla posted, that's a heck of a deal. They're bigger than what I installed, and you get 2 for $12! Nice find. I wonder what the quality of these are versus the Ozniums... It'd be worth buying those just to find out.

Those look great but as posted aboved they are just too bright for me. I recently replaced all the doors, dome lights to LEDs and to me that's is bright enought. I'm just missing the one near the rear Hatch.. And all those LED's combine are bright!!!

It add a nice touch to the FX indee.
