I had my FX tuned using UpRev Osiris and I was told for my 2004 year it was necessary to swap the #3 pin in the FX dash OBDII connector to the #14 position. Looking at my connector, that is the way mine is currently wired - no pin in the #3 spot and one pin (red wire) in the #14 spot.
I went to have a state inspection done yesterday and two different shops could not connect to my ECU via the OBD port. The computer looked like it was trying to connect, but it never did. So I couldn't have the inspection done.
If the tune shop did swap the pin, it was a clean job - I can't tell anything has been touched other than the fact that it seems to be in the wrong place. In trying to pull out the wire from the back, I'm causing a little cosmetic damage and I'm not able to remove the wire/pin. I see a small retention tab and I'm able to move it with the tip of a small nail, but the wire won't slide out.
In another thread the suggestion was made to jumper the #14 spot to the #3 spot so you wouldn't have to change the wires when tuning vs pulling sensor data. Since this would energize both pins I don't know if it would confuse the testing equipment. But since I can't get the pin out of the #14 spot, I think I'm going to try the jumper method. If I could find an appropriate pin socket, I'd solder on the wire and have a switch between #3 and #14, clicking from "Osiris tune" to, "OEM config". For now it's just wire shoved in-between the two.
Can anybody confirm or deny this 3/14 position swap is required? Trying to find an OEM pin-out for the connector to see what the OEM pins should look like and having problems doing so. Help is appreciated.
