Hey guys..
Just picked up a nismo exhaust and I'm searching around all the shops to do the tip extension..
Everyone around just uses regular steel pipes and traditional mig weld.. I can't find anyone that tigs or stocks stainless steel piping. Should I just use regular steel and traditional mig? I could coat it with some spray on VHT if anything..

Opinions?

no one?

They can MIG stainless, I had it done when I was customizing my Invidia. You can have them use regular steel and then paint it; unless you live in an area they salt the roads a lot, it's fine.

I find it hard to believe that there are no SS TIG welders in your area.... I would find one, even if it's a day trip.

Found one @ a performance shop.. none at muffler shops. will post up pics as soon as my wicked tips get in. Thanks guys

Yeah, no muffler shop is going to TIG, it takes way too long. Glad you found a place to do it though. For muffler tips, TIG is overkill, but pretty. When I built a few custom turbo setups back in the day, I'd have my friend's fabrication shop TIG all of the load bearing stuff like manifolds and of course anything aluminum. But for exhausts, I always had it MIG'd, faster and cheaper and honestly if it's under the car, no one will ever see it.
