I read some posts on how much it would cost for a Nismo S exhaust but im still unsure of the total...first someone said it would cost $850.00 but then later on someone else said that it comes to ~$1550.00 total

if i get the Nismo can i just bring it to a shop and let them extend the tubes and do all the necessary mods to fit my 05 FX35 considering i have no experience w/ exhausts nor how to install them?

Cost of the nismo exhaust will depend on the retailer, group buys and specials. But you can bet the cost ill be around $1,100. Any muffler shop can do the modifications necessary to make it fit. Read some of the nismo installs on the FX35 some of the members have done and cal around shops around your area and ask if they can do the same.

Here is one on ebay some other member posted previously http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GENU...rQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_1579wt_833

You have an AWD so you will have to modifiy the Y-pipe or get a separate AWD version y-pipe along with the G-35 extension piece and extend the tips. Check out some of the 45's with the nismo exhaust and how they did the install.

Thanks man! this is great. I think my first mod to my car will deff be the NISMO exhaust. Now to find a reliable shop haha...i

Well i did it!

Well i did it! i went ahead and ordered the nismo exhaust. It was $1,116.94 out the door. I just have to find a good muffler shop to weld in the extension or wait a 2-3 weeks for the g35 extension that is on back order at mynismo.com. I haven't found anyother sight that sells the extension.

If you guys don't want to wait for the extension piece you can always cut the mid-pipe and weld in the same size piece with steel. A cheaper alternative.

Agreed on extending the pipes to avoid the G35 extension piece. I chose to extend the two arms of the ypipe to get around the AWD transfer case and retain all pieces of the kit.

back order

damn it figures! I get a good price on an nismo exhaust and the thing is on back order. just like the G35 extension i maybe waiting a few weeks before its even shipped.

guys, just a heads up... the nismo is a full stainless steel quality exhaust & should last may years, but you should be careful in who you select to modify it & what they will use & how they will weld it. I've seen some guys have this done at a regular budget muffler shop & they def will not use stainless steel, nor will they tig weld it. if the extension work is done cheaply like this then it'll only be a matter of time before your extension rusts out & falls apart. if this job is done well with comperable stainless steel & welded well, then the modification can & should last the lifetime of the exhaust... bottom line, this is not a $300 ebay special, don't cheap out on the install & wind up having it fall apart in short time... specifically ask for stainless steel extension, tig welding would be best but it's not impossible that someone can also do a decent job with a mig properly equipt for stainless steel too, the average budget muffler shop will probably not have the right equiptment to be able to do the proper job to have the extension work last as long as the rest of the exhaust, although that will not stop them from saying yeah, we can do it. don't be afraid to ask for details of "how" & "with what"...

How similar are the modifications done to a Nismo for an FX and a G35. I am looking to buy a Nismo...been looking on G35driver, 6mt, my350z....very few exhausts, so I'm trying this site too. Just wondering if I get the extensions...and an exhaust had modified tips to fit an FX...if it would work on the G coupe

To fit the G coupe, it would already have the extension piece that goes between the Y and the mid. All you would need to do is extend the tips. Depending on what year and engine FX you have and whether or not you have AWD, you may or may not be able to use the Nismo Y.

think he's looking to install on a g, if it was already modded to an fx then the tips would be sticking out too much on a g, they would need to be shortened to go back onto a g

Ahh I figured it wouldnt be a perfect fit. I've seen tip extensions for a g35 and I'm thinking around 1.5 inches would be what I'm going to end up with either way. Guessing the FX tip extension is more? I do have access locally to someone with G35 Extension pipes for the midpipe section...at least so I can install the 350z nismo on the G myself, then I was planning on taking it to a shop to get the tips done. Guess I'm just getting tired of looking every day on craigslist, ebay, and all these forums for this nismo exhaust. Guess that means most people love them and keep them!!
