New Used Gianelle V5 's

Stu your cracking me up with the images. I'm gonna get the 285's. Thanks for the advice! Now I'm contemplating 45's series. But those calculators are advising not to go over a certain percentage, and i don't want it to rub. 45's anyone? This visualizer at tires pros shows minimal gap if i increase to a 40-45 series (http://www.tirepros.com/). I wanna try and avoid lowering this car. I believe that MTN_FX has 265/40/22's and his FX looks pretty good. Looks like OEM fit. I just researched the FX50. It has 21's and 45 series tires. you think 45 series on a 22 is pushing it on an FX, Or go with 40's. Also, should i be concerned about the tire calculators percentage recommendation on the 45's? they are saying that the 45's would be a bad percentage. Oh, and i'm confused on if my speedo says 60, how fast any i actually going? two of those calculators are says different things. faster and slower. Sorry to hassle you guys. But I know that i'm talking to the right people.

You really should drive a modded fx that is lowered. Stock spring height is just bad. Not just looks either. I's just Bouncy & floaty.
The H&R springs really dont lower it by much, you get better performance, & you should get a 35 series tire.

Ya, i think i'm beating the dead horse. (what ever that means) BUT! You guys have helped out a tremendously. So thanks to the response, and not flaming. (if i wanted to be flamed, i'd be at that other site) 285/40/22. final answer. Thanks guys! Time to celebrate! yodj

 I appreciate all the help guys. i'm leaning toward a 40 series tire, and stock height. I wish someone could chime in on the fit of the 40 series on stock springs. It's killing me that the 305/40/22's are way cheaper than the 285/40/22's. I'm gonna sleep, and pop on tomorrow to see if any one else posted. thanks again for the help.

I tried 285/40/22 and 285/35/22. The 40 profile fills the gap more but choose your tire wisely. I'd definitely stay away from Falkens and stick with Yoko Parada or Hankook RH06 tires. If you go with 265/40/22 (stock overall size), it'll look thin and tucked in. 305/40/22s will look so so fugly

As many have said, just stick with 285/35/22s. Your wheels are not wide enough to optimally accommodate anything wider. Here's a shot with 285/40/22 tires:

And here with 285/35/22s:

Detail on 285/35/22:

When I used 285/40/22 Falkens, they were ridiculously noisy and handled like sh!t. 285/35/22 Yokos were, believe it or not, much more comfortable than even my stock 20s with snow tires..

Go with 285/35 and some H&R springs and come back to thank us.

thanks for all the help, here are the 285/40/22 Falken Ziex S/TZ04. I'm extremely happy with the fit, and the 305's would have been a bad choice. The 285's provide enough bulge to protect my lip. and the sidewall height is perfect for non lowered and doesn't rub. Tires are smooth and quiet. I'll post photos from my buddies new shop in the TXFX regional forum.

Hello there. I know this an old thread but i need help. I know people are sayin 305 will be too big. But I ordered a set of 22x10s.. What do you guys think 305/40 on a 22x10? I know on a 9inch wide it will be to wide for it. But 22x10, on stock height? Any opinion is appreciated.

I have 295 on a 10.5 and I think they are too buldged (for me anyway)
305 Would look silly IMO
