New Starter-Help needed

Has anyone changed a starter? Is it easier than alternator?

My bettery is good. Alternator is good. The last few times I cranked the fx it seemed sluggish to turn over. I stopped to pick up movie tickets-walked back and the FX would crank, or turn over, or click.
The Alternator and battery are both about a month old and test great. Is the starter the next thing it would be? I believe it is on the lower/back part of the engine on the passenger side
 
Hey David, slighlty off topic here, but I remember you were having so many issues in the past with your battery and alternator. Glad you got those resolved!
 
Starter is not too bad to swap without turbo piping or a front trans there. Getting to the nut for the power line is a pita, the release connector is not the easiest either. I had to put in a new one once, it was in stock at the dealer so they stocked it for a reason.

Yes I had a multitude of battery/alternator issues :-(. Glad that's all worked out
will be ordering the starter soon, I'll try the infiniti dealer to see if they have one but I bet it will be crazy exp there. I see some online for 150-180.
 
Got it at OReilly Auto. 119 for a rebuilt one with lifetime warranty. Installed this morning.
However now my battery light and brake light (e brake) light flash every now and then. Both at the same exact time. Last time the battery+brake+vdc slip light did that it was time to change the brakes-they should be good. Anyone know what these two lights together means?
 
Anyone have a link or video with instructions or directions for replacing the starter? Mine went out and the dealer wants to charge me $818.55!!!! I kid you not. That is insane. Looked and looked on here but found nothing. There wasn't a video on youtube either. Help would be appreciated. It should be about a 2 bolts removal right?
