Howdy everybody. I am the proud owner of 2016 qx70 and im here looking for mods and other good things.

Welcome to :iS2:
What mods would make my qx 70 go faster? The only mod i know for sure that i want is a strut bar. They say i should get it "chipped" first, although i dont really know what that means. I also know that i want the ArK exhaust system but other than that i am lost folks.

Any help?

I was in the same boat not too long ago and have spent way too much time figuring the tuning aspect out (I have experience with other platforms).

From my understanding the best bang per buck seems to be from a full exhaust (Ark is very nice) a long tube intake (for a g37) such as Z1, Takada, Stillen (or Admin, which requires tune upon installation) and a ecu tune using EcuTek or Uprev.
There are other parts to be had such as ported intake manifolds, headers, larger throttle bodies ect but the worth of those parts will de dictated by your wants and budget (less bang per buck).
From there forced induction (turbo or super charger) would be the way to go.

Suspension is a big one for me, lowering springs (H&R, Eibach) and coilovers (BC racing Ksport, D2, Silvers) depending on your preferences for ride quality and height adjustment. I was not too excited about the options we have available, but after speaking with several manufactures and then dealers decided to take a flyer on Silvers..
I would also suggest a nice set of tires as a 'first mod' as tire selection made a noticeable improvement on the handling for me.

A strut bar on our double wishbone suspension will be less effective then other vehicles that use a McPherson type strut but I've read it will tighten up the steering feel a bit and I've always been a fan of chassis bracing so have one on order myself.

Good luck with your project!
