Hello everyone. My names Kevin. I've had my 04 fx35 awd for 6 years now. Bought her with 32k and currently has 224xxx. Car is stock and I love it. Outside of normal wear and year I haven't had many issues. But there is one problem I've just run into..

over er the winter I managed to get sideways(accidentally) and smacked a curb pretty hard. I blew out my front driver side bearing and damaged the cv axle. I have replaced the bearing and am trying to fix the axle as I type this. But my issue is as follows.. The axle seperated at the cv joint closest to the hub, and also where the half shaft joins the cup that attaches to the front diff. When I try to remove the 6 bolts securing the inner most piece of the axle all it does it spin in place. Any suggestions? I have tried everything from wedging in a pipe wrench to banging the broken axle assembly back together and reinstalling with the axle nut with hopes the pressure would stop the spin. Thanks for any and all advice. I am fairly competent with a wrench and would really love to get my baby back on the road ASAP, but I'm running out of ideas

Welcome & you can try clamping a visegrip on it really tight and loosen the bolts while you hold it.
