New dumbest question - sunglasses holder

Am I using the sunglasses holder wrong? Near as I can tell, you'd have to have an incredibly wide nose for glasses to properly seat in the holder. What am I missing?

I place mine 'lenses down', not sure if that helps or not. Unless of course you are a woman with a very small head/face, and have the sunglasses to match.

Lenses down too - seems like they kind of teeter in there. Gotta hold em in place while I shut the lid.
