Hey everyone,

for personal reasons I wont be able to keep my lease on my 2010 fx35. I was wondering where is the best place for someone to takeover my lease. I have already posted it on craigslist but almost all of the people said they didnt have excellent credit to make it happen. my fx only has 8,000 miles on it and is in great condition. With only about 20 months left on it, i was thinking it would be a easy transaction. I looked at swapalease but when i went to the fx section, none of them were selling and i have been looking at that for months.

- Thank for the help

I was going to suggest Swapalease until you said you tried it. Now, I don't know if they do, but try CarMax? Maybe they have a program where they work with people wanting to sell leased cars.

How much is your payment and what are the terms? Maybe someone here might be interested. Good luck!

Craigslist and swapalease the places you will get lucky, its a waiting period, someone will show up soon or later though.

no experience in lease here, but based on a quick search, it looks like selling it will be your best option. maybe contact the leasing company and ask the option for you to sell the car and all the amounts involved. you can also post the figures here if you want and others may give you a clearer reply. hope everything works out for you.

also sometimes you can make a nice ad, like first two months of ownership/lease payments on me, or 1000 cash bonus upon lease.. goodluck

i just realized the car i bought recently is kinda similar to this, but financed instead. see if a "third party buyout" is available. in my case i helped the owner fill out a third party buyout (since he was not familiar with it), paid toyota the balance directly, then paid the owner the difference of the agreed price.

i also read an interesting article by edmunds staff getting into complications by buying their leased car (to avoid penalties) then selling to a third party and end up double taxed (edmunds and the buyer) and learned later that they should have the buyer directly purchase the car.
