I need help with making 2 decisions.
1. Keep my high mile '09 FX35 (219k miles) or upgrade to '16 QX70 (115k+ miles)?
2. Keep my H&R lowering springs/Megan Adjustable Control Arms setup or upgrade to BC Coilovers?
I picked up my '09 FX35 back in 2016 with 98k miles. The only mods I had installed were the Megan Adjustable Control Arms along with H&R Lowering springs and '09 GTR wheels. I had to replace the radiator and ABS module in the last couple years, but other than that, it's been pretty reliable. It now has 219k miles and it still runs great, however, I'm beginning to wonder whether now is a good time to get rid of it and upgrade to a newer ride. There's a '16 QX70 with 115k+ miles I have my eye on with the Premium and Sport pkg and although it has high miles, I'm very familiar with the FX35 issues and am confident it will hold up another 100K miles.
So I'm wondering what you guys suggest. What would you guys do?
To my 2nd question regarding the suspension setup, I love the ride comfort I get with the springs and adjustable control arms, but I do with it was lower. The concern I have with coilovers is the lifespan of the BC coilovers. Will they last more than a couple years? I read a thread in this forum where one user said one of the springs broke on his BC coilovers. I've had no issues with my lowering springs at all, so I'm wondering if anyone here has had the BC coilover setup for longer than 3 years and can speak to that. I prefer a lowered stance, but don't want any quality issues with coilovers.
So what would you guys do?
