Need aftermarket wheels help

2010 FX35
I have a 2010 FX35 with the stock 20's, and am looking to use those in winter and get an aftermarket set for summer. I love the spoke look of the 21's on the 50, but due to lack of tire selection I've decided against them. Is there an aftermarket wheel anyone is aware of that looks like the 21's on the 50, but is in either 20" or 22" instead?

Also, since I have to clear snow in winter I won't be lowering. However I have seen some people get a tire with a slightly higher sidewall to help fill in the wheel well, and while this may have an impact on the speedo if the ride height isn't too drastically different this impact is minimal.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has either 20's or 22's with a slightly larger sidewall as to which sizes would be recommended. I'm assuming this is more of an option with 20's, but am wondering if it would also be possible with 22's.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Lowering would look much better than a meaty tire, lowering it will make no difference clearing snow.

In addition to ground clearance (lowering an inch or 2 would still mean 1-2" less in ground clearance), I'm concerned with ride quality.

What about overall ride harshness? The ride now at stock height with the stock 20's is as stiff as I'd like it to be, and I'd assume lowering it would make the springs even tighter and as such would make the ride even more stiff. Then if I threw on 22's with even less tire, I'd imagine that the ride would be even stiffer yet?

I can only speak for the H&R springs but they ride much better than factory springs on 18s,20s,and 22s ...I also drive in snow daily lowered with gtspec braces no clearance issues at all:tup:

Ok, you were referring to new springs rather then lowering via coilover. Curious what the extra cost on something like that would be? You say it rides better then the factory springs, could you elaborate slightly? Does it handle as well or better then factory? Is the ride more or less stiff then factory? If they handle as well or better then factory but at the same time the ride is less stiff, that would be nice.

How much did you lower yours? Also, how deep of snow do you have to drive in? Here in MN we've had a brutal winter, more then 2 storms thus far with well over 12" each. Even at stock height I had trouble driving in that, so I just thought losing even an inch or 2 would make it even more difficult to get around in.

Thanks!

Mine is just lowered whatever the H&Rs drop em ...1.1 or .2 o .5 ? not sure but there are many threads that will give you the info your looking for

The H&R seem to be alot smoother than the stock too me at least

i would choose a meatier tire over lowering based on where you live. as for what wheels, check out the wheels gallery. tons of pics there to help you decide.
