Alright so total newb question here, but I am traveling I believe out of my zone that I told the GPS I was in, do I need to change this zone to the Zone I will be driving into or will it figure it out? Also, with the long trip im hoping to be able to save some cash. would I be able to use lower grade fuel or am i going to suffer to much in the MPG, i will be driving mostly 65-75

If you want to input a place that is in a different zone than you are at present, you have to change the zone.

Definitely use premium fuel, it will affect your performance . I go on trips of up to 10,000 miles in my FX and use premium.

I've noticed a .1-.2 mpg drop in mileage when using regular. But that was in mostly stop and go traffic. If you're constantly cruising at 65-75 mph, mileage will probably not change. Performance would suffer, but you'd never notice it at cruise, just while accelerating, you may get some knock if you're getting on it. You'd definitely save some money since regular is ~10% cheaper than premium and you're not going to lose ~10% fuel economy. I always use premium just because saving $6-$8 a tank doesn't impact me, but the savings are there.

ya the only reason im considering it is for some reason the local regular grade fuel is 3.85 a gallon or so. but it seems the BP preimium is 4.19 a gallon. Ekk... but i suppose once you do the math, its like 8 dollars in savings, hardly worth it. there unfortunatly wont be much in acceleration as ill be following a horse trailer. :(

If you are towing something I would seriously advise against using anything besides premium anyway. Your putting extra strain on your drivetrain, feed it adequately.

Yes not towing anything thanks though. It'll be premium. If I can do 400 miles on the tank. It'll only be one tank.

One tank? At your gas prices and 20 gallons, it's a $6.80 savings.

Over the course of 10,000 miles-
It's a whopping $200 savings. It's just not worth changing.

You will only have to change the zone on your GPS if you're entering a new destination outside of your current zone. The onscreen map will otherwise follow and display correctly regardless of what zone it is set to.

Thanks for all the reply all. Almost home and opted to use premium. Averaged 22.5 mpg going 70-80. On another note. Found some Nissan. Nismo rims near where I live for sale.... They look nice.... It's tempting. 500 bucks with tires.
