So i took it to a mechanic shop they cut both flanges off and put a sleeve over it is that ok? looked ok when they did it, but when i looked this morning the sleeve is more angled then the original piping. Is this ok for my engine? or should i replace the whole exhaust system and does anyone have suggestions whcih one to get and how much?

Nothing wrong with it. Worst thing that could happen is an exhaust leak, but that won't mess with the engine at all. Not a bad excuse to get a new aftermarket one though. Plus if one flange broke and you're in an area where they use a lot of road salt, chances are the rest of the exhaust is on it's way out.

Mine did the same thing a i had a sleeve put over it. No problem. If you don't hear a leak you're good to go. No need to replace the whole thing unless the mod bug got you. Otherwise its as good as before. Been told the fx is notorious for that

I had the exact same thing happen 1 year ago this month. Same fix. Guy at the welding shop says that it happens all of the time with the FX, G and I think the Murano - all in the same spot. It was encouraging that he also mentioned that he's never had to do any other exhaust repairs on those same models. All in all, it is a bad design, but not a terrible fix.
