Hi guys,

I finally got me FX37 shipped in last week from California with EJs silver OEM kit from the classified section inside it. Unfortunately, during shipment there was damage to the rear bumper and I had to send it to the Infiniti Body Shop to get it replaced. Needless to say I was pissed and it sucked because my car was damaged before I even had the opportunity to drive it. Thankfully, the dealership down in Oxnard is taking care of all the damages. The plus to all this is that I got hooked up at the Infiniti dealership. They offered to paint and install the body kit at a discounted rate because they were already doing work on my rear bumper. It was awesome because the kit didn't come with a full set of the install parts (They had been lost/misplaced over time) and the body shop had the parts which I couldn't get from the parts department myself. The body shop also offered to paint the chrome part of the side moldings. So overall I am happy about that.

There is bad news however. I still have yet to pick up the care because the painter was unable to match the paint appropriately. There was a significant difference between the rear quarter panel color and the rear bumper so they are re-painting the rear bumper. Hope to have the car back tuesday for pictures. So far I have some pictures of the damage that was done during the shipment and a couple of pictures at the body shop.
My next goals are to:
1. color-Match the front grille and side vents to the dark graphite on the LE wheels and roof rack
2. black out the fog light covers (not sure if I can take these off now that I have front lip so considering plastidip???)
3. black out the chrome trim around the windows (vinyl wrap???)
4. white out the door handles and chrome on rear door (paint vs vinyl wrap?)
5. debadge FX37
6. Clear corners or black out amber lens in headlight housing. (IF anyone has any idea how to get this done without spending a ton please let me know. I hate the amber color. I was considering oneighty but haven't committed because the housing is already blacked out on LE's and I have not committed to getting halos yet. )

Advice for completing this job is always welcome.
Hope to have more pics for you all next week.
Really love this forum for great ideas, the help with stuff concerning the FX, and genuine people. You all are legit!

Very nice fx! Congrats! Too bad about the damage. But good thing theyre taking care of it. You should bake/open the headlights if you want to tint or remove the orange. Windows i would vinyl wrap. I was thinking of doing the same on mine.

2. Plastidip is a good try-before-you-buy option, but if you want to do it right you're going to have to get them painted. 2000 grit sand paper, some primer and a rattle can is all you'll need. Plastidip scratches easily and certain cleaning/detailing solutions will wipe it right off.
3. The chrome trim on my old (old lol) 3.7 was vinyl wrapped in matte black, as were the chrome strips on the aero kit. Never had a problem with them; always easy to clean and looked great.
4. Paint or vinyl will work fine on your door handles. I rattle canned mine - lots of prep work, though!
6. I blacked out my headlights, but left the amber alone. If you decide to go the halo route, pick up a set of Morimoto HBs. They look like a solid ring instead of lots of little conspicuous LEDs. Much more professional, IMHO.
