Mouse problem...the furry kind

OK fellas....discovered a mouse on board and after three trap attempts.....he is departed. It appears he entered thru the shift boot.....left a nice sized hole. I would like to upgrade the shift knob & replace the shift boot. Any ideas on how to do this and where to buy parts? Thanx for any advice....
 
What the hell. This is a very interesting thread. lol You can find your parts online on the INFINITI parts store or contact your dealer and they can get you parts. I've seen people with Momo knobs, a vendor on here has some, and I've seen a knob off of a M56 as well.
 
Not sure if Mr. Mouse entered thru shift boot or was trying to exit.......but an old fashioned wood trap loaded with peanut butter ended his quest.
 
Just got the estimate from local dealer to replace gear shift boot.....part # 96943-1CA1B...$315.....labor. $112. If someone could explain how to remove knob & boot I could find an upol. shop and do it in leather for less. Any ideas?
 
It's easy to remove the shift knob.
-slide shift boot down
-remove clip at bottom of shift knob
- pull shift knob off.
 
To get the boot off...you will have to remove the shifter panel with pry tools. You will have to remove the center console part....then if you flip it upside down you will see it is held on by a clip. It is not that hard to do at all...
