Most common rim size? 21?

Hi, newbie here and I've been browsing around all the different forum areas.

I was just wondering what is the most common size rim that everyone is going for.

My 09-FX35 came with 18's, which i'm planning to throw winter tires onto.

Debating what's the best size to go without sacrificing too much on ride quality.

Are most people going with 20's, or 21's or even 22's?

I don't plan to drop the car.

Most common would be 20's IMO for middle ground between handling, ride quality and sportier look.

either get the 20"s or 22"s if you want to go big. 21" limit your tire options and are expensive also. don't forget, with larger wheels you are compromising ride quality. 20" with a drop or without should do the job if you're not that picky.

ya I have 21" on my 50. Plz stay away as you get a grand total of 1 tire to choiose from. 20" or 22" is the way to go

I think 21 is the perfect size for the FX, but the tires are mighty expensive. 20s look a bit small IMO, and 22s get really expensive if you buy quality wheels instead of cheap wheels. Urgh.

22's look great on the FX and with the right tires handle the corners excellent and 22" tires are easier to find and are cheaper than 21's

Get 22s that are quality and pick out some quality tires and you will not notice much of a drop in comfort. Imo this looks best on the Fx.

If you are really worried about it, then get some 20s.

In either case, get rid of the 18s asap.

Good plan to keep the 18's for winter set up thats what I did too.

I have factory 18's and can't wait to change. If I get 20's I think that is the only wheel I need, if I get 22's then I will likely keep them for my winter fun. Either way the 18's have to go IMO.

definitely keep the 18s for winter tires... If you're going to go with something with a deep lip, then go with 22's... if a "flush" look, then some 20's look great! But whatever you do, do NOT get 20's with a deep lip... trust me on this
