Misfiring while idling

I'll try to post a video tomorrow. Any reason why you want a sound clip?

Cylinder #1 is the front most on the passenger side

So when you say cylinder 1 is the front most on passenger side, you mean the one closest to the rad

Probably the easiest one to get to. 10 minutes? Pull engine cover, remove 2 bolts holding coil in and then remove wire. It then pops right out and then put new one in. Or swap with cylinder next to it to test coil. Both coils are easily accessible.

Thank you gentlemen, i may just do this after work today. I will just buy a new coil and change it

One last thing as i am going to fix this today. Are all the coil packs the same. The palce i called said they have one for $65 and one for $75. Does it matter which one i get or should i just get the $75 one

Alright i picked up the coil pack at lunch and my cousin changed it, all is well now. Thank you all for your help

I actually wanted a sound clip because I've never heard an fx misfire and wanted to listen to what it sounded like. More so because I wanted to compare it to the sound of my fx to make sure its not misfiring either (I know, kinda lame and stupid)

Sent from my HTC One

you would know when your car is misfiring as it is not a smooth idle. the car shakes and it also hesitates. When you punch the gas it will not go right away and it will stutter.

You don't hear a misfire so much as you feel it. If you really want to know how it sounds, pop your hood and unplug a coil. Then start the car, you'll immediately know what a misfire feels like. It won't hurt anything either.

Well, I had a misfire issue w the same code very recently and the cause was the plugs. Apparently, I didn't tighten them enough so the vibration caused the grounding to points break off. Maybe the mechanic did the same thing I did. I solved my problem w new plugs and making sure they were on right. I had no idea what misfire was until this experience. It almost feels like the car will stall then surge, almost like a messed up tranny.

By the way, I doubt it is the intake. If u had a vacuum leak from improper install, your idle would go up and down erratically. Try it... I did it on accident during the install. Misfire and vacuum leak feel completely diff on the fx or any car.

Quick & easy test... Move cylinder 1 coil to another cylinder next to it and drive and scan to see if it persist.
-If the code pops up on the new cylinder then you know that coil is bad and you could replace that coil only.
-If code pops up as cylinder one again then replace that spark plug again.
