Mine's Racing Harness (Reverse/swap shifter pattern)

Patrick, did you ever follow up with this? I can't seem to find it anywhere really and their website doesn't show a price and cart to purchase. I have been driving more recently in manu-mode and it feels really awkward shifting if i don't have a kit like this.

Mbarb15, I noticed in your garage you have it reversed, did you buy some kit or you swapped the wires on your own?
 
Oh when i had my 79 camaro it had a hurst V auto shift so it was the opposite and all i had to do is slap it up.... That was fun but with the fx i really never done it cuz im afraid of messing up the tranny....

Is there a danger of tranny issues if i use the manumode?
 
the DIY.. it was just snip 2 wires and cross and tape.. soo easy to do, literally 5 mins tops

no damage to the transmission at all.. all ur doing is just reversing the position and it works the same it would normally just opposite
 
Ya, there shouldn't be any harm. I used to be really hesitant on manu-mode in all of my cars, but wow, it sure is different and enjoyable on the FX. I guess I will be doing the DIY snippage instead. :top:

Hey Andrew

Ended up putting the project on hold. The mine's harness is nice and mainly for aesthetics but you can accomplish the same thing by swapping wires via what turbo said on page 1. There are also write ups on g35driver (will try to take a look for them)... I was thinking about doing it... but what held me back is that the (+) and (-) symbols on the shifter panel would be "wrong" after the swap, and may drive me nuts haha. The real reason this never got done... got lazy :tongue (2):
 
The only thing I don't like about switching to manual mode you slide it to the left, but when I'm in manual and take a right I'm usually holding on to the shifter and I accidentally put it back into D. On my dads cayenne to put it in manual you slide it to the right and taking right turns with your hand on the shifter isn't a problem. I don't know I guess its just me but it bothers me.

Oh I already thought about this too. I'm sure I can just cut the + and - out and maybe rearrange them with with tape or something. The Mine's come with decals, but it won't work for 06-08 consoles because they're recessed and lighted. I'm going to take apart the console with Handy Andy after work today and see how extensive it is.
 
Seriously, I can't wait to swap it. When I use manu-mode and and accelerate, I get tossed back into my seat and it's so unnatural for me to be pushing up to shift, lol. :vroam:
 
let me know what happens, i would like to buy 06-08 shift kit and swap them over.. if only... i wish i was close to u guys.. i'd get soo many projects done..

Hahaha, did you notice the date on that post? 09.16.2011. Okay, I will add paddle shifters to my list of to dos if you insist. Can't go wrong with that mod, that's for sure. :smile (2):
