Ok, I drove the car a bit more and noticed a few things:
1) 3.5k RPM has the best sound (strange) - exhaust become higher pitch and it's very addicting to stomp it until I get to 3.5k rpm.
2) Near the 2 resonators on the mid-pipe: on park and neutral the exhaust sounds normal. On Drive & reverse with no load, there is a feint sputtering. The sound is different on Drive and Reverse for some reason. I'm not sure if this is normal since my previous system on my Acura TL-S had no such sound with a full catback. What do you think this is? Maybe I didn't tighten the thing enough and there is a small leak? It may just be the characteristics of the megan mid-pipe.
3) You can hear the same sound on this youtube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFtxBrXfcWg
You can hear the boom boom boom boom (bassy sound). I suppose that is normal?
4) Sounds like this in the morning before getting heated up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZaMX-GxQB8
Another clip of the sound I'm referencing. I guess it is normal -_-;
5) Unlike megan, the Tanabe's start with a lower pitch very bassy growl and the pitch increases with higher RPM. The pitch increase with RPM. I believe it cuts off around 5k and all you hear is engine. I will confirm this later tonight when I take a drive
6) I haven't driven the car on the highway for more than 2 minutes yet, but I suspect that there is no droning in the cabin (which is a huge positive for me).
7) I will harass my wife to drive the car for me tomorrow morning so I can record the sound.
